Totally. His motives are rather pure -- unlike, say, a similar situation with House or someone. The only way ego is related is that he really does take pride in his work; he knows, without a doubt, that what he does is valuable. But that's used to fuel the Hotchalanche, rather than the Hotchalanche being used to defend his pride. For he is Hotch. :)
