And she has the confidence and self-awareness to, say like the ep when they're telling her to take herself off her mentor's murder investigation, to stand up for what she actually can handle, and then handle it.

And Steve does the exact same thing to Danny in the episode with his murdered ex-partner.

"What the hell does that mean? Do you even listen to yourself when you talk?" "Proteolytic means it breaks down protein. You know, from the Latin roots--" "Okay, seriously? Protein is animal flesh. Why can't you just call it a 'flesh-eating chemical' like it is?" "It's not a chemical, it's an enzyme." "So?" "So, that's a protein, not a chemical." "Are you telling me it's a protein that eats other proteins? That is just so wrong." "It doesn't eat them, Danny...oh, never mind."

*dies laughing* Especially "It's not a chemical, it's an enzyme." That is *so* Steve.
