rhetorical? maybe. unless you have a good answer...

Question: Why do people blame Chris O'Donnell for Batman & Robin like it's his fault moreso than a) George Clooney, b) Uma Thurman, c) Arnold Schwarzenegger, or d) Alicia Silverstone?

My personal choice of blame for that movie is Joel Schumacher. But Chris O'Donnell? His Robin wasn't that bad.

dude, i don't even care, uma thurman as poison ivy is the best thing of my SOUL.

poison ivy is the poison ivy of my soul, though. so i am perhaps a little biased there.

She was pretty awesome, but she was also COMPLETELY RIDIC. Then again, maybe she was trying to fit in. :D

Maybe people forget that Batman Forever didn't suck as hard?

From his IMDB profile (comparing the experiences of making the movies): "When I made Batman Forever, I felt like I was making a movie. When I made Batman & Robin, I felt like I was making a toy commercial."

My theory has a hole in it! Apparently Schumacher also directed Batman Forever -- and yet, I actually like that one. WOE, THE LOSS OF A GOOD THEORY.

HEE. That's Chris O'Donnell? That's adorable. <3

Perfectly apportioned blame, IMO. Schumacher, that is... although it's a damn good question as to why it's Chris' fault!

I don't know! And yet, I see people connect him strongly to it. I'd say it was it was the last major thing he did -- but then why not Alicia Silverstone? Maybe it's because her role in Clueless is kind of eternally awesome, no matter where her career went. Hmm.

...I always blamed the suck on Clooney, personally. He was too genteel to be Batman.

Oh, totally. Clooney should be playing Cary Grant roles, not Batman. Sheesh.
