how much TV do I watch?
Hey guys, you want to know how much of a nerd I am? When they gave Neal the breathing device, I immediately burst out with "That's the thing! I mean the prop! From that Bond movie!" because I'm nothing if not eloquent, and then Neal made the Thunderball reference and I felt so vindicated. :D
I remember doing thesis research and reading about the props people for Thunderball getting a call from like, the CIA, asking "So how long does it really work for?" And the props department's all "Uh, as long as you can hold your breath?" CIA: "So...how long?" Props: "*headdesk*"
Man, that was a fun paper.
Also, gosh, I am so OT3 about that show. How adorable are they? And now Neal and Peter are getting all "Let me die for you!" "No, I'll be the one to drink the poison!" (*/Merlin references*) And Elizabeth ships them harder than anyone, okay. She thinks they're good for each other! And she's clearly fond of both of them, and don't tell me she wouldn't punch Kate in the face if she met her. <3
I totally cracked up when we found out that Neal doesn't actually have the music box that everyone wants from him. Talk about things coming back to bite you on the ass! That was so perfect, especially since we now have a device to keep that particular plot moving.
And then we watched the Southland episode (taped on a real-life VCR, because we're old school like that). And then Katie and I decided that we should watch all the rest of the seven aired episodes, so we did. I think this makes this my third full rewatch? Not counting the good-parts rewatches. I really really love this show. *hands*
In other news, I kinda signed on with a bartending/event waitstaff temp agency today! Orientation is tomorrow. YAY MONEYMAKING OPPORTUNITIES. \o/
