Blah blah blah, blah blah BLAH blah
I'm bored already. This does not bode well for the next seven months, does it?
I stayed up all night packing, of course, because that's what I do. Thank god for Abby, because I never would've finished packing or managed not to have a mental breakdown without her. I finally made it to Houston late Friday night, after a moderately-fraught travel experience (was switched to another flight, had baggage drama concerning my damn five-foot-long midterm drawing project from the fall, flight was delayed about three times, iPod died, etc, all after 30 hours straight of no sleep and packing). However, I didn't have to wait until the next day for a flight like at Christmas, so I was okay with that. Saturday had me up early for Emma's graduation ceremony, reception, nap (*angels sing*), and then a very fancy and expensive dinner (thanks Uncle Andrew!) with the family. I went with Emma back to their dorm for the party they were hosting, where I spent most of the time talking with Emma's best friend/roommate's adorable gay brother Matt, who's starting at NYU this fall. He's a really cool guy, and I had a great time talking with him, so we'll definitely be hanging out again when I'm back at Barnard. On Sunday, we helped Emma pack a bit and then drove back to Austin. Or rather, I drove back to Austin. My dad has this thing about conversation via asking him questions that he can ramble on about, whereas I'm more of a fan of give-and-take, so that was a fun little tension that kept the discussion interesting, when he wasn't reading. I managed to get my mom to read one of the fics I'd printed out (Speranza's Eight Sessions; Annie's Like Sailing and Home Runs was too long for the trip), which I'm thrilled to report she enjoyed, and would be interested in reading more fic. \o/ I like nothing better than reccing stuff to people, especially my mom.
Anyway, now I'm bored. Maybe I'll go lie in the sun some more.

Heh. Printing out for her to read? That's a good idea. I wonder if that'd work for my mum? Hmm...
Congrats for the graduation thing and that sounds like a long haul! Hope you've recovered with sleep and snuggles! :)

*bites lip* Wait, doesn't Eight Sessions have explicit slash in it? And you had Mom read it OUT LOUD in a car WITH DAD IN IT?!?! Okay, I'm calling you right now, dorkface.
