Total Solar Eclipse

It's 5am and I'm watching the NASA TV live video webcast of the total solar eclipse from Side (SEE-day), Turkey. This is mainly because I slept all afternoon and now am wide awake, but I also just sort of think it's cool. Coverage runs from 5am to 7:30am.

I am so, so nerdy. But not as nerdy as the scientists anchoring this webcast, which is comforting.

This is so cool. I'm thankful for my recently weird sleeping habits for the first time.

Oh, what an awesome link! Thank you so much for sharing this!

I love having good geekage first thing in the morning. *g* Fantastic.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! It's a shame you (probably) missed some of the earlier stuff. They did a little clip show about Side and had the mayor talk about the various sights. All the Greek and Roman ruins would have made you even more geekily happier.

Damn, I did miss the clip show and the ruins. Still, I wouldn't have caught any of this had you not posted on your LJ so that rocked. :)

I know there was at least one article on one of the achaeology sites I frequent about some dude who climbed one of the Great Pyramids in the Valley of the Kings during this eclipse to meditate. I'll see if I can track that down again and find out what was behind that story.
