I admit, I had just listened to "Miss New York," which hits a particular chord with me at the moment, since I'm graduating and leaving very soon (and I always have that feeling about the city on break anyway). It's the mark of a good song, but not terribly paper-inspiring. Especially since I'm one of those people who can't listen to music and write at the same time.
"Hard To Kill" has this one line ("last night's excesses resulted in some bruising to your ego, and your elbow, your shoulder, and your arm") that makes me think of my friend Naomi; she came up with the term "UDIs" (Unidentified Drunken Injuries) for just that kind of bruise -- the ones where you see it the next day and think "huh, where did I get that?" :D (Naomi, as you may safely conclude, is a lot of fun on a night out.) I'm not certain Mr. Hines means it in quite such a lighthearted way, but I need to listen to the song when I'm less sleep-deprived and inclined to babble to no end...
