*manic laughter* I'm going to die.

I have class this morning from 9:10-10:25am, then from 1:10-2pm, and 2:40-3:55pm. I have to leave my last class a half-hour early to get to my bartending/partyhelping job (a Passover Seder for 14 people), which will run from 4-10pm. After six hours of standing on my feet (but with a paycheck that will amount to roughly $170), I'll probably get home around 11, due to the bus schedule that time of night and the almost certainty that the event will run late. Then, I'll have to finish writing my 4-6 page paper for Social Movements that's due on Thursday at 1:10pm. Which, granted, isn't very long, but I'll have been on the move for about 10 hours at that point, and I haven't really read the book with the concepts we're supposed to use to analyze our topic. My first class Thursday is also at 9:10am (note to self: NEVER AGAIN let you give yourself this schedule), followed by the aforementioned 1:10-2:25pm class, followed by another 5-9pm Passover job. And what am I doing right now? That's right. LJ and Facebook.

The good news? This will be followed by blissful sleep. The other good news? I'm writing the paper on Barton Springs activism, which is easy for me. I managed a page and half just on basic explanations of the issue, pulled out of my ass sans proper research. Katie, I might be calling you at some point. You've been warned. Also, today was good. I went to class and got free lunch and cotton candy because of Spirit Day, lay in the sun on the lawn, and hung out with Leigh doing work this afternoon. Good times.

In other news, I've started DLing "Supernatural". I figure, once you have an entire dream which your brain cooked up as an episode without ever having seen a second and reading only one drabble in the fandom, your subconscious is trying to tell you to watch the real McCoy.

Oh, and
Penitence [Sin & Salvation]: Smell sanctified! A blend of pure, pious frankincense and graceful myrrh.

This one, I don't have much to say about. It smells like...incense. Okay. Great. It's just not that special to me. The End.

Vice [Sin & Salvation]: Voluptuous and indulgent! A deep chocolate scent, with black cherry and orange blossom.

I was so disappointed with this one. I've seen people on the bpal.org message boards describe the effect that this had on me before, and it's spot-on. You know the scent of children's toys that are made to smell like something? Like those Strawberry Shortcake dolls or My Little Ponies; this turned into plasticky strawberry one me. *sigh* Oh well.

Black Pearl [Bewitching Brews]: Evocative of the sea's unplumbed mysteries. Gentle and lovely, but menacing and profound. Coconut, Florentine iris, hazelnut and opalescent white musk.

Another disappointment. I couldn't smell the coconut at all, the hazelnut clashed with the iris, and the musk was unappealing. Ick. Floral and sweet and sort of sickening. Not cool.

Ultraviolet [Bewitching Brews]: Electrifying, mechanized and chilly -- the scent of crushed blooms strewn on cold metal. Lush violet and neroli spiked hard with eucalyptus and a sliver of mint.

And the next in the line of disappointments! Which is a shame, because I was really looking forward to this one. I think something about the combination of the violet, neroli, and eucalyptus made this sort of sweet and powdery, which didn't work for me at all with the mint. Damn.

O [Love Potions]: The scent of sexual obsession, slavery to sensual pleasure, and the undercurrent of innocence defiled utterly. Amber and honey with a touch of vanilla.

One of the ones I got from [livejournal.com profile] maribou413. I know it's one of the more popular BPAL scents, and is probably useful for layering, but on its own, it's way too sweet. I'm keeping it around to play with layering it, but don't really plan to wear it on its own.

Oh woman, YIKES with the work and the paper and the classes. I am rooting for you. Plus, Barton Springs! I think you should put your Jorja Fox story in there, that's good for at least another page or so. *nods*

Call away, dear sister. Just don't call between 8 and just past 10 - I'm going to a movie. But I guarantee I'll be up late, so feel free to mine my (limited) knowledge of Eddy's Amazing Aquifer ;) You might find David a better source, if you can find time to ring him up.
