Allow me to share with you all the wonder that is Supercook.

I actually heard about it, oddly enough, on the local news station during on of our roadtrip continental breakfasts (in Las Vegas, New Mexico). But this does not change the genius of the idea! You know that moment when you say "There is no way I'm going to the store, I don't have the money for delivery, and I have no idea what to do with the contents of my fridge"? Well, Supercook lets you list the ingredients you have, then searches all the major recipe sites for things you can make.

It's kind of perfect for a college student, and circumvents some of the more dubious cooking experiments that happen...

In other news, classes start tomorrow! Wish me luck. With class from 9:30am to 5:45pm with only an hour break and the possibility of a good professor having been swapped for the troll-like one? I may need a drink. Which is really just an excuse to say, who wants to hang out tomorrow evening? :D

You're welcome! :)

IT REALLY IS.

Thanks! School is using me as a bit of a punching bag atm, but hopefully the hazing will all be over soon...

Really? SCORE.

Also, have you heard of cookthink.com? It sounds similar to this, but it has its own recipes on the site. You can list the ingredients (or ingredient) you want to use, the type of dish, type of cuisine or "mood" and it will give you various recipes. It's not always the most useful, but it's certainly fun and has given me some excellent dishes.

Really. :)

I hadn't heard of it, no. Thanks for the link! That "mood" function is an awesome facet, and especially useful since I'm such an "I feel like ___ right now!" kind of eater.

I LOVE Supercook! It has gotten me through many late-night sugar cravings where all I have in the house is sugar, butter, flour, and occasionally baking powder or peach jam. OM NOM NOM.

That schedule sounds crazy! It's almost like a work schedule.

Mmm, peach jam + those ingredients sounds like it equals amazing things. :)

It is! I'm kind of used to it, though. Film classes are always these epic four-hour-long blocks. Monday and Tuesday are both 9:30-5:45 blocks (minus lunch), but Wednesday is possibly blank (I'm waiting to hear about a class), Thursday has one 10-1:50, and we get Fridays off! Score.

BTW, hi! How are you? I'd love to come down and visit sometime this semester.
