For reasons that don't need exploring can't be explained at this juncture, would you all pretty-please with a cherry on top link me to videos you find visually interesting? Or maybe just your favorites. YouTube, or if you have files on your computer that you like, whatever. Feel free to be indiscriminate.

I will be eternally grateful.

:D?

ETA: Also, does anyone know of a good way to convert .avi and other video files to .mov/Final Cut-compliant formats? Again, the gratitude is eternal.

I've been using VLC to convert .avi to mov.

It does that? How? Do you know if it does .mp4 files, too? I've been trying to use MPEG Streamclip, for mp4-->.mov so I can edit on Final Cut, but it makes my computer freeze up, FML.

VLC was SENT FROM GOD, I am telling you.

File > Streaming/Exporting Wizard
Select Transcode
Choose the file you want to convert
And then I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK for avi to mov, you just click Transcode Video (leave the audio alone) and choose WMV2. For avi to mp4, I know you do both Video and Audio and set both as MPEG 4.
On the next screen, do the same.

I've been able to make MPEG Streamclip transcode from mp4 to mov, I think, so hopefully it's not your computer that's the problem.

Let me know ... I've been doing this a LOT lately, so although I have no technical know-how whatsoever, I might be able to help you troubleshoot. Or even transcode things for you, if necessary.
