Yes, I did stay up all night watching TV. (My sleep, so messed up.) Just be glad I'm not writing about the three episodes of Primeval I saw before these, too. Although, that would pretty much consist of "Yay dinosaurs and time travel! Yay killing off obnoxious characters! Yay awesome competent women as both villains and heroes! Yay random gratuitous formal wear while fighting dinosaurs! YAY CONNOR AND ABBY YAAAAAY MORE KISSING NOW PLZ! ...OMG WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL NEXT JANUARY!?!" and maybe some speculation about how cute I think Sarah/Becker is, or how awesome Brad Colbert from Generation Kill would be at fighting dinosaurs. :D

My thoughts on The Good Wife are much more thinky, but no less full of love. There is much less mocking, however. That's likely because TGW doesn't involve dinosaurs or time travel or faily geeks. ♥

Man, I thought Kalinda was awesome before, but seriously? There are depths of her awesome that were still to be revealed to me. May it please the court, I draw your attention to Exhibit A: Kalinda playing both sides AND sending in a sneaky ninja attack on a third all while never lying on the witness stand. Rock on, woman. She is my new hero.

I love the friendship between her and Alicia, too. She seems to be the only person whose welfare Kalinda actually cares about, on a personal level. With everyone else, she enjoys mutual-using-each-other agreements; she and Alicia ask each other for help, and give it in return. It's very interesting to watch the development.

OMG, how fantastic were the interactions between Diane and McVeigh the ballistics expert? I hope he comes back at some point. I totally ship them now. Theirloveissobipartisan! :D? I'm now remembering the Duke Roscoe thing where he "outed" Diane as a lesbian and she just cracks up with that magnificent laugh of Christine Baranski's, and walks away. Diane is also kinda my hero.

And Cary! How wonderful was that scene between him and Alicia where they admitted they like each other and don't want the other to lose? ♥! And when he ripped apart the Santa Claus witness, I was reminded once again that he also hits my competence kink. There are a LOT of people on this show who do that for me, on a believable but frequent basis. It's GREAT.

"Guys, I'm being threatened over here, can you believe this?" *snerk*

...and now I understand [livejournal.com profile] celli's current LJ title. :D

Alright, I officially enjoy Eli Gold. Alan Cumming is good casting there, IMO. And I don't normally care for the actor all that much; he plays quirky/wacky a lot, but I somehow like him playing mostly-straight better, because he just has this aura of weirdness to him instead, or something, which makes him really interesting to watch. He's competent, he knows what's what, he gets to the point, and he's clever. Watching him crush Becca like a bug brought tears of joy to my eyes and sunshine to my heart. I look forward to seeing what he does next. Plus! It gives Joe Morton (Daniel Golden, Peter's lawyer) someone else to talk to on a regular basis rather than just talking legalese/being awesome in court -- which is fun too -- and I adore Joe Morton.

Will episode! Yay Josh Charles! Will is...interesting to me. The guy is such a cipher; I have so little idea what's going on in his head. It's something this show does well, the opacity of everyone and everything, from the cases to the main characters. Even Alicia doesn't necessarily know what she wants or feels, so how can we? And how can trust exist in such a situation, when she's so disenchanted and hyperaware of her own betrayal? They handle it all very well, IMO, with a light and sure hand. Anyway, Will is interesting.

"What's her name?" "Bite me." "...Is it Dutch?" LOL

Wheew-ee. That was a nice kiss, there, Alicia and Will. Josh Charles does fervent very nicely, and that little noise she made? Mmph. That's how you do it, ladies and gentlemen. They've been building up to it, too, really subtly, nothing showy, and then bam! one small thing tips it over the edge, and isn't that just how real affairs happen? I also kinda loved Alicia going back. (I may have had a similar experience once? and wow, this was accurate -- you walk away because it's a bad idea, but then you go back because dammit, you're turned on, and it's kinda looking like a good idea too even though it's still a bad one and...yeah. anyway. and then she had to blow off the steam! hurrah for depicting a woman with a healthy sex drive!) The morning after scene. AWKWARD. Beautifully done, too. And we even got good Kalinda! She just knew after the thing with the laptop, AND she cloned the lawyer's phone! That woman is sharp as a razor and twice as shiny.

Right, so. Anyone know when we get a new episode?

Next week! I am twitching in anticipation.

The Diane-is-a-lesbian thing was totally misdirection for Kalinda actually being a lesbian, yes? Or I hope so.

Yay! Thanks. :)

Oh, yeah, totally. They've hinted at it in at least a half-dozen other ways. The look Alicia gives her, right before they say it's Diane, and the way Kalinda goes all tense? And Kalinda's FBI source hitting on her? Yep.
