I just discovered that there is a crazy man named Renfield in Dracula. Anyone want to bet on whether it's a coincidence that Renfield is Turnbull's first name on "Due South"?
ETA: Also, there are a lot of people with the last name "Turnbull". (The Due South people were probably going for the Norman Turnbull reference, of course.) The majority of the Turnbulls appear to be Scottish, and there are some pretty interesting people on that list, like the samurai expert, or the "celebrated psychic". Look, there's even a comic book artist! These options, plus the Scottish thing, plus the being awake this early thing, is giving me some seriously cracked-out ideas for stories involving Turnbull, samurai swords, psychics, a comic convention, and kilts.
