Dear Flist,
May. 16th, 2008 06:03 pmA request for advice from the clueless (that would be me, the clueless, asking y'all, the non-clueless. Um, hopefully non-clueless):
When applying for a job online that provides a list of positions, an email address, and the words "Email your resume to [email address]," what is the etiquette/best approach? (These are not rocket scientist positions -- lots of food service, production assistant, etc.) Do you write a full cover letter? Add a little note in the email? Attach the resume or include in the email text? How do you indicate the position you're applying for, or do you? Anything else I should know?
These are things I should know, and I feel stupid asking; I'm very bad about not asking questions when I don't know the answer, but I haven't been able to find a satisfying answer in my own research. I need reports from the ground. Help, please? Personal anecdotes are welcome.
