Regency icons

So, once upon a time,
calathea posted the beginnings of her Kormanfic Regency AU, Alarums and Excursions. Also once upon a time, I was awake at an ungodly early hour, bored out of my mind and chatting with
calathea. She casually mentioned she was looking for pics to icon for Alarums (namely, a shot of two men from behind in Regency clothing). My brain decided that helping out would be a GREAT way to alleviate boredom.
Everything spiraled out of control from there. Because once I realized that Jane Austen was technically Regency-era if not exactly in the same subgenre, there were thousands of screencaps available to go through and icon. And then, once I had some good Bruno and Boots options, I had to find some Cathy and Diane, and then I kept noticing all the other shots of Regency stuff that would make pretty icons, and...well, you get the idea. There was this whole incident when I decided the crowd in the background just made everything too cluttered, so I spent several hours changing it all to black and white (see first five icons). (It was IMPORTANT, okay? How many shots are you going to find where random characters passing each other accidentally looks like two men giving each other smoldering looks on the ballroom floor?) And there's the actual cropping of the icons, adding text, fixing all the settings so the color and lighting is right, blah blah etc. blah. Believe me when I tell you that I exercised restraint when it came to posting; maybe half of all the icons I made ended up here. In short, I've spent way too much time on these, learned a few more things about photo manipulation, and felt a renewed urge to read romance novels. But there are pretty icons for my fellow Regency-loving types! Even if you're not reading
calathea's fic. A lot of these double as Austen icons.
