You guys you guys! Southland was EVEN BETTER than I thought it would be! I know I've seen it before, but there was a LOT of new footage, to the point of really surprising me. And TNT aired it without commercials (and then showed an extended preview of that new Mel Gibson movie, yawn, and then scenes from new Leverage yay), which I love. And I had forgotten how much I love the characters -- especially John Cooper, Lydia Adams, and Ben Sherman (okay, and Chickie, and Janila), but really all of them. And I know that it only gets better and the characters only get more interesting. I am having a renaissance! YAY.

Okay, I'm gonna shut up now and just do this -> :D

We don't even have basic cable and our antenna only picks up 4 religious stations and FOX, so I've never actually seen Southland...but I am reading telepathy!fic. Does that count?

Hee, it seems like everyone's reading Dira's fic, even without having seen the show! She's such an excellent pimp. :D If you want more Cooper/Ben, check out hackthis's fic; she's written some great stuff.

I went the hushhush route and got my hands on all seven of the NBC episodes and *flail*

Hee, I'm so glad you like it! Isn't Cooper the best? I keep rewatching this scene, and then there's the impromptu divorce for the fighting couple, and just... *hands* I love him! And then there's Lydia, who is so, SO awesome. I mean, she's so compassionate and good at her job, but she can also pick up a shotgun and not hesitate at all when she has blow away bad guys to defend Janila. And Ben! Who could've been such a rookie-cop cliche, and is instead a really fascinating character with great depths of fucked-up-ed-ness. <3333333

That Dennis/Denise scene is the best, though I went "Ow! His poor back!" when he hit the ground. And Ben Sherman--a deep well of angst and martial arts moves. Who needs to not date vapid Beverly Hills girls.

I want to be Lydia Adams when I grow up, trufax.

Kimmy and Janila are such teenagers, it's amazing.

God, yeah. When he stands up, you can just see how much he's hurting and going "Oh, hell," on the inside. *winces* And Ben Sherman should be dating the opposite of vapid, wishy-washy Beverly Hills girls (i.e., John Cooper :D).

She's totally moved up into my list of People I Want To Be When I Grow Up, which includes people like CJ Cregg, Abby Sciuto, Brad Colbert, and Nyota Uhura. <3

I adore Janila for being such a teenager, because she IS one, against all kinds of odds that should have made her grow up before her time. I've grown reluctantly fond of Kimmy, but dammit, that woman needs to sack up already. Sheesh.
