Haven't posted in a while, have I? Probably because work is crazy due to it being the season for all the holiday parties, and also having a social life, and about a half-dozen doctor appointments. *sigh*
BIG NEWS: Katie and I caught up on Hawaii Five-0! PLEASE COME DISCUSS IN THE COMMENTS! I want to talk for ages about how pretty the scenery is, or how pretty the wildlife (i.e., EVERYONE on the team), or about how rapidly this show has become my happy place, only to make me wait for new episodes. But I really have to sleep at some point tonight, so I won't. I am making myself pick three things to talk about instead:
1. In the last episode, how great was that scene where Steve and Danny have a car conversation that is serious? I mean, that's how normal people talk about heavy memories -- they share personal experiences, and then they go AWKWARD, NEED TONE SHIFT. And if you're Danny, start ranting about the radio. (And if you're Steve, practice your deadpan face to perfection while egging him on, because at least now he's not staring sadly out the window in a completely unnatural-for-Danny kind of way. <3333333333333333)
2. KONO. How awesome is she? I love that she's new but not dumb, confident but not cocky, self-assured but not stupidly authority-challenging, emotional but not irrational, clever and innovative. She is, in short, much like a lot of awesome ladies I know, only since she is a TV character, she can also spin-kick a guy off a speeding motorcycle while saving a small child, and looks freaking awesome in ridiculously tall spy compartment high heels. :D I loves her. And I also like the way she interacts with the team -- the guys treat her like the guy friends I know would treat a coworker, with respect and friendship and affection, with the discernment to know that playfulness does not automatically equal flirtation, and the wherewithal to actually NOT hit on her even though she's quite pretty.
3. THE LACK OF CLOTHING. I'm looking at you, Steve. Okay, and Kono. It makes sense for Hawaii, too; growing up in warm weather climes, I personally can attest to the fact that it tends to make people a lot less weird about stripping down when necessity demands it. Necessity...demands it quite a bit on this show. I really can't complain. *ogles* :D
3a. The problem with working in a hotel with continental breakfasts is that I spend a great deal of time in the morning with pineapple right in front of me, reminding me of H50, while also being a giant nerd. These things lead to thought processes like: Ever since I found out that pineapple has an enzyme that literally breaks down flesh, I have had a bit of weirdness eating it. Hmm, I bet Danny would also have a problem with that. He already hates pineapple; maybe that's why. They're flesh-eating! Flesh-eating...ooh, maybe someone should write H50 zombie fic. It's set on an island, that's inherently interesting. Plus, you just know Steve would be awesome at killing zombies. They probably have a section of SEAL training all about beheading the living dead. Or he just decided he wanted to be prepared. OH WAIT -- pineapples, zombies, both flesh-eating...THE PINEAPPLES ARE CAUSING THE ZOMBIES. AHAHAHAHAHA....
...and then, I have not a single person at work to share these thoughts with. It's very sad.
Anyway, stopping there! Because I have to be awake at 5am, and then work for about 18 hours, and then do the same thing on Friday, only waking up at 4am instead. But please talk to me in comments. :D?

2. Their car conversations are the BEST, even when they're not being serious about the tough issues they face as cops and Steve's orphan backstory. HEARTS FOREVER, GUYS. And a rainbow, too! I don't care if there are already a million in Hawaii...
