I can also take a look at it for you; I don't know much, but I know a tiny bit, so I could maybe help you figure it out so you don't have to spend money at a shop. I've also found a few places here in town that are supposed to do typewriter repairs, so let me know if you want their numbers.
We're all fine, we live pretty central, so if we were in danger you'd be seeing "DOWNTOWN AUSTIN ON FIRE!" type headlines, and Governor Good-Hair wouldn't be fucking off to the GOP debate, so...yeah. Some of the fires this weekend were a little close to my granny's house for my taste, but those were also the more minor ones. The sky's all smoky and hazy with particulates, though, which is a little crazy. Everything's just been burnt to a crisp this summer; all the plant life actually looks fragile, it's so dry, and likewise is likely to go up in smoke at the drop of a hat.
