Ah, Procrastination

Surely someone's written an ode with that title. If not, we should get on that, stat.

What am I doing on this fine Sunday evening Monday morning? The usual, of course. Writing in my LJ. Reading liz_marcs's new chapter of No Myth, which was hilarious. Reading fic Katie saved to her harddrive. Wandering into other rooms of the house to eat junk food and watch silly ABC Family original movies and CSI: Miami episodes.

The only productive things I've done today have been talking to George about maybe doing something this week, taking a shower, and filling out the forms to send to Barnard saying that I accept their acceptance. Oh, and helping Angie pick her book for her research paper. Sigh. At least I get four days of half-days this week. I never thought I'd say "thank God for standardized testing," but there you are.

I can't wait for college. New York, New York...

The Long Day

I drove Mary home today and mostly geeked out about Firefly and Stargate and various other things. I wondered if she wanted to be working on her editor's note for the lit mag instead, but it's hard to tell these sorts of things while trying to watch the road. I don't know why I feel self-conscious around some people so much more than others. I... you know, I really don't want to analyze myself right now. I just wanted to share that I pulled into the driveway as the last lines of "The Long Day Is Over" by Norah Jones were playing and felt it was very appropriate and timely in one of those mysterious everything-falls-into-place events.
