inmyriadbits: oranges on blue (csigregperiodic)
I've had a confluence of reminders about this (our current biology lab is a similar set-up, plus the girl in question just visited me/NYC during her break), so I feel I should share with the world the wonderful insanity that is my friend Marta.

Marta: this lab report that i'm doing... we have to talk about fly virginity
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: HA
Marta: but that phrase gets old
Marta: so i've moved onto fly chastity
Marta: and fly purity
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: lol!
Marta: "in cases where the genotype could not be positively ascertained by looking at phenotype, females of questionable chastity were put in a solitary vial for 3-4 days in order to make sure that all of the offspring came from the intended pairing."
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: I have no words
[...]
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: how about "maidenhood"?
Marta: philandering drosophila are so hard to deal with
Marta: haha
Marta: i acutally thougth about tht one
Marta: i wonder if i would get points off for that though
Marta: its might be just on the other side of that fine line
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: true
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: you never know where those science teachers lose their sense of humor
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: Now, if this were Journeay*...
Marta: hell yeah
Marta: if this were only journeay
Marta: that's it
Marta: i changed it to maidenhood
Marta: i'll ask him about it tm
[livejournal.com profile] inmyriadbits: *wins*
