Why is no one talking about this?

I'd like to ask all of you to link to this on your own journals, because many of you have much, much larger flists than I do. I feel like this is something that could particularly helped by the viral nature of LJ--we've seen what we can do already with issues like the Mary Jane statuette and the Warriors For Innocence LJ persecution, so why not this? If no one else will write about it in a public forum, we can and will. At least 33,000 fannish journals and a community as active and passionate as ours can do more than we realize. We can help bring this story to light and maybe get something done about it.

All I'm asking that you at least post a link on your journals to bookshop's entry. That will do more than you think.

*is completely horrified* ... I'm linking everywhere. I want to see this over and over and over again on my flist. You're right - given the resounding response to the WFI stupidity and given how GBL-friendly fandom is, this doesn't get buried.

already done! Things like this shouldn't happen in the first place! Whether he was gay or not is not the issue - the issue is that a man was beaten to death, and for an endless amount of time because they wanted to!! I don't care what excuse they use, or whether it is considered 'valid' or not - even animals do not do things like this - no matter how violent that animal is!! We put down dogs who attack people for no reason...hmmm...

Sorry, I'm angry and probably speaking out of turn on this!
