SXSW! and vidding, somehow

I'm back from Houston! My SXSW recap is going to be epic, let me tell you. I had such a good time, but I'm really glad it's over. I'm covered in bruises, I have a twisted ankle, I'm sunburned, and my feet are thisclose to seceding from the union. On the plus side, though, I turned 21, talked to dozens of new people, saw a shitload of good films and live music, had the most bizarre turns of good luck/coincidence, and Ian (The Cab) played guitar at me from inches away. I am so not complaining. :D
I'm currently trying to import video into Avid so I can try it out as a vidding program replacement for Windows Movie Maker. I have two ideas in particular to focus on next. The first is a Nathan-centric S1 Heroes vid to Alexi Murdoch's "Dream About Flying" (download!), which is a eerily perfect song for his character. For example, lyrics: "These days I'm afraid of everything / Suppose 'cause everything will die / For who wants to love what they will lose? / So much easier to lie...." The other is a Magnificent Seven vid to "Down Yonder" (download!), an instrumental piece from Willie Nelson's Red Headed Stranger that sounds like saloon piano music only more awesome, and will probably just be a silly romp through the Western stuff and the Seven. My notes say: "fighting, fucking, drinking, and gambling; laughing, smiling, tipping hats; riding horses, shooting guns; camaraderie." I think that about covers it. *g*
Wow, that got longer than I meant it to. Whoops?
