- So I just realized that I never posted the results for the unguessed pairings in the quotations ship meme a couple of weeks ago. I've now updated the post with the answers -- no one guessed Miss Parker/Jarod (The Pretender), Josh Lyman/Donna Moss (The West Wing), Olivia Dunham/Peter Bishop (Fringe), Napoleon Solo/Illya Kuryakin (The Man From U.N.C.L.E.), or Steve McGarrett/Danny Williams (Hawaii Five-0). For shame on the last one, people. The rest I kind of expected -- serves me right for being ridiculously multifannish. The pairings that were guessed were Brad Colbert/Nate Fick (Generation Kill), Bertie Wooster/Reginald Jeeves (Jeeves & Wooster), John Watson/Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes books), Lord Peter Wimsey/Harriet Vane (Lord Peter Wimsey series), and Benton Fraser/Ray Kowalski (Due South).

- I have started compulsively watching QI again. Why is Stephen Fry so awesome, seriously? I just want to be his friend, give him a hug, and sit around drinking tea and/or madeira while talking about obscure trivia. (SIGH why am I not Emma Thompson)

- Question: does anyone know where I might *ahem* look for video editing programs, with, say, an eye patch on, if you know what I mean? I've been really wanting to make some vids, but fuck if I'm going to do it with Windows Movie Maker again.

- In other, unrelated news, I can't stop listening to Janelle Monáe's song "Cold War". I'm not sure why. It's awesome. :)

Hello again, everyone!

My roadtrip concluded late-ish on Friday, after an absolutely lovely week of visiting with friends and relatives and barely checking my email every two days. (Someday, I will catch up again. Sorry to everyone waiting for replies!)

I keep saying that I'm going to take a day and not do anything, after all the driving and being helpful and whatnot, but then I end up, like, cleaning the kitchen and doing the laundry and going to the store and cooking ALL THE THINGS dinner. It's like a sickness; the people I visited during the roadtrip can tell you that I was showing symptoms even then. The groom of the wedding I attended last weekend was actually reduced to ordering me to sit down and take a break and stop helping (bless his heart). :D?

Anyway. In an attempt to make this post barely/vaguely fannish, have a vid rec! Suddenly I See is an absolutely delightful Castle vid, all about the most fabulous people in the show – namely, the ladies. :D Seriously, it's entirely about Alexis, Martha, and Kate Beckett, and proves how Rick Castle's life would be such a sadder, less interesting place without them around. ♥

AHAHAHAHA YOU GUYS YOU GUYS

[livejournal.com profile] talitha78 made a completely freakin' hilarious 30 Rock vid that is all about Liz Lemon, using Frank Sinatra's "The Lady Is A Tramp." This is Liz Lemon in all her ridiculous, flailing, awesome, charmingly dorky glory, and I LOVE IT. ♥!

Seriously, you should all go watch now! 30 Rock is not really a show you can be spoiled for, so no worries if you haven't seen the show. *shoos toward link*

I'm back from Houston! My SXSW recap is going to be epic, let me tell you. I had such a good time, but I'm really glad it's over. I'm covered in bruises, I have a twisted ankle, I'm sunburned, and my feet are thisclose to seceding from the union. On the plus side, though, I turned 21, talked to dozens of new people, saw a shitload of good films and live music, had the most bizarre turns of good luck/coincidence, and Ian (The Cab) played guitar at me from inches away. I am so not complaining. :D

I'm currently trying to import video into Avid so I can try it out as a vidding program replacement for Windows Movie Maker. Heroes and Mag7 vidding blather )

Wow, that got longer than I meant it to. Whoops?

Gah, I'm so sick of being neurotic over posting this. I declare myself done! No more editing! No more following [livejournal.com profile] thespatz around with legal pad full of notes! DONE. FINISHED. POSTING NOW.

...By which I mean to say, hi. I made a vid to MirrorMask, which is a lovely movie done by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean a few years ago (there's a minimally spoilery summary here, if you're interested). As both a film student and a massive perfectionist, I don't think it turned out too badly for a first timer; as a film student and perfectionist, however, I'll be the first to admit it's not perfect. :) I realize that practically no one has seen this movie, but if you would like to watch and maybe give feedback anyway, I'd be much obliged.

Many thanks to my dear patient twin [livejournal.com profile] thespatz, who was encouraging to me but hard on the vid, and told me when I was losing it, back away from the editing program, Lindsey. Which is exactly as a beta should be. Kisses, darling!
