a.k.a., how did I miss that Tim Gunn was on The Daily Show?

Oh, Tim Gunn. *draws hearts* Jon also gets hearts, because he was fanboying him in the most adorable way. I approve! :)
This reminds me, I read his book last month and would like to highly recommend it. It's very entertaining, especially if you're a fan of the way Tim Gunn expresses himself, which I am; you can practically hear him saying the words as you read. I actually stayed up late to finish it, which I can honestly tell you has never happened with anything other than novels. He treats style as a matter of personal expression, and as such does not proselytize specific things, but rather explains how to discover it for yourself. It's a very straight-forward, even-handed book of advice on how best to form your own style, and quite an interesting read.
ETA: Tim Gunn: Dictionary. Best. Thing. EVER. Tim Gunn is such a word nerd; if you read the book I just waxed poetic about, there's a section in the appendix for terminology, and he introduces it with this paragraph about how wonderful a broad vocabulary is, and how it allows you to express exactly the right shade of meaning. It spoke to my soul, guys. I'm so not kidding.
