So, I've been catching up on House from a full season behind. Aside from telling you all that I really missed House and Wilson's friendship (the entirety of 5.17 "The Social Contract," for example, was just lovely in their delightfully fucked up way), I just wanted to comment on something really nice that the writers Doris Egan created. I'll write it so it's non-spoilery -- it may be the regulars! It may be the Case of the Week intro! YOU WON'T KNOW. Unless you've seen it, of course.

So, two people sleep together. (SPOILER ALERT: it's not House and Wilson! Sadly.) Girl wakes before guy, applies lipstick, kisses on boy's cheek before leaving; guy wakes up after girl is gone, goes into bathroom, notices kiss mark in mirror, and sees lipstick sitting on counter where girl left it for him to find. Isn't that such a lovely, creative way to leave a non-verbal morning-after note?

It totally makes me want to steal the idea for my own nefarious purposes. *eg*

You'd have to actually wake up in the morning to pull that one off. :P

Oh! Unless you meant fictional purposes? *innocent*

:P You suck. I'm going to go put on my vampire Marilyn Monroe outfit now.

But damn, I'd forgotten that Doris Egan writes a mean episode of television. That was awesome. :) (and REALLY H/W shippy, holy crap)

That doesn't even merit a response.

I don't mean to piss you off, but I'm really glad it wasn't House/Wilson, because some of that group's shippers can be really obnoxious when they get something that they can use for their ship in canon. Not you, but other people.

*hugs* Hope you get other stuff you like, though.

Heh, well, I guess that's true for most slash 'ships! I've never encountered any obnoxiousness myself (lucky me), but I'm not much involved in the fandom. I do know the feeling from other fandoms, though. :)

Are you not a House/Wilson girl, then? I'm just curious if you like another pairing, or if you just get annoyed with the shippers' reactions. I'm not all that invested in ships on House myself; I think all the relationships are cool in their own ways (although I have grown rather fond of Chase and Cameron; they are adorable and I don't want them to break up). I do think it would be hilarious if they ever did any House/Wilson in canon, but I don't expect it at all; my joke was based entirely on that non-expectation, in fact. The House/Cuddy stuff in S5 was unexpected but interesting -- and hey, I'm always up for makeouts when two actors have that much chemistry. :D

Male pairings, it is, or so I've noticed...

No, not really. If I 'ship anything it's probably House/Cuddy. I was on the fence during the two main het 'ships for the first season, but I'm way behind now - still haven't seen the last few eps of season 3, even.
