So, I've been catching up on House from a full season behind. Aside from telling you all that I really missed House and Wilson's friendship (the entirety of 5.17 "The Social Contract," for example, was just lovely in their delightfully fucked up way), I just wanted to comment on something really nice that the writers Doris Egan created. I'll write it so it's non-spoilery -- it may be the regulars! It may be the Case of the Week intro! YOU WON'T KNOW. Unless you've seen it, of course.
So, two people sleep together. (SPOILER ALERT: it's not House and Wilson! Sadly.) Girl wakes before guy, applies lipstick, kisses on boy's cheek before leaving; guy wakes up after girl is gone, goes into bathroom, notices kiss mark in mirror, and sees lipstick sitting on counter where girl left it for him to find. Isn't that such a lovely, creative way to leave a non-verbal morning-after note?
It totally makes me want to steal the idea for my own nefarious purposes. *eg*

I'm not all that invested in ships on House myself; I think all the relationships are cool in their own ways (although I have grown rather fond of Chase and Cameron; they are adorable and I don't want them to break up). I do think it would be hilarious if they ever did any House/Wilson in canon, but I don't expect it at all; my joke was based entirely on that non-expectation, in fact. The House/Cuddy stuff in S5 was unexpected but interesting -- and hey, I'm always up for makeouts when two actors have that much chemistry. :D
