Fringe 2.09 "Snakehead"

inmyriadbitsSo, tonight's Fringe made me very happy.
I think that Bones and Fringe were in a contest to see who could gross me out more. Upon consideration, I think Bones won on gross-factor (I could NOT look during the skin thing, and greatly regret temporarily being stunned into forgetting the existence of my mute button), although Fringe put in a good showing. Fringe definitely won on creepiness, though.
Aside from that, the ep was awesome! Lots of Astrid! Lots of Astrid and Walter being friends! They were both so worried about each other. *draws hearts*
Walter was breaking my heart. That sequence where he's trying to call Peter, and then breaking down on the bus bench? John Noble got so much frustrated helplessness and fear and loneliness into that performance. I don't blame the Chinese woman for taking him home with her. The final scene was so Walter, too -- touching speech, aching vulnerability and self-awareness...and then he announces that he implanted himself with a tracking device. Oh, Walter. Never change.
Olivia was, as always, adorable with small children. Um...yes. She didn't really have a lot to do this ep, did she? That's okay, it wasn't a her-centric ep, and that's cool. She was being as efficient as usually, just mostly offscreen. Aside from rescuing Peter, that is.
Speaking of, I'm pretty fond of the way that this show makes Peter the distressed damsel, while Olivia is the one who busts herself out of full body restraints by pitifully asking for a drink of water and then kicking ass. :D I'm also very happy with Peter speaking Cantonese. His accent wasn't that bad, no? I have a thing for people speaking multiple languages. :D
Not the most scintillating or intellectual analysis, was that. I think my brain may have finally had enough of this whole "thinking" nonsense. Which is unfortunate, considering finals are like, now. *sigh*
