Oh, what the heck. From
thespatz and
yahtzee63:
The first TEN people to comment in this post get to request that I write a drabble of any pairing/character/prompt of their choosing, in any fandom I am familiar with. In return, they have to post this in their journal, regardless of their ability level. (If you absolutely can't write, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to offer drawings or icons or dirty limericks or something instead.) I'll even write you a dirty limerick, if you prefer that to a drabble.
For the record, I recently got into Generation Kill, re-watched all of Lie To Me and Fringe with my twin, and am having a Southland renaissance, so I'd be particularly thrilled by prompts in those fandoms. But I'm really really easy if you want to pull out something random like, say, The Pretender. :D

Date: 2010-01-16 11:56 am (UTC)Edit: *laughs* Yeah, higher brain functions NOT working well. My brain, it fails. Not Dairine/Carmela - are you even in that fandom? I forget - but Kaylee/River would be nice. ^_^ Thanks.

Date: 2010-01-16 08:02 pm (UTC)Dairine...she's the younger sister in Diane Duane's Young Wizards series, right? I only read the first few books, a looooong time ago, so I don't think I'd even met Carmela yet. Sorry! I'll write you some Kaylee/River, though. :)

Date: 2010-01-16 08:25 pm (UTC)River has been curled in the copilot's seat for a long time, and her muscles complain. She unfolds one leg from beneath her and stretches it up toward the ceiling, flexing and pointing her toes.
Simple complaint, simple solution. It's soothing to her like algebra.
Kaylee drops the wrench with a clang and a final curse, scooting out from under the pilot's side controls. She whistles, eyeing the long extension of River's leg. "I just don't know how a person can bend like that," Kaylee says, sitting up.
River lowers her foot, leg straight, smooth arc -- and pokes Kaylee in the stomach. Kaylee giggles, ticklish. This, too, is simple algebra of the body, and it makes River smile.

Saturday's child works hard for a living
Date: 2010-01-18 12:45 am (UTC)(and for the record, it is all your icon's fault that I was briefly imagining a FOB crossover, until I realized that Cooper would shoot Pete Wentz about five seconds after meeting him, and that it would thus be a bad idea. :P)

This was the last thing he expected John to do the morning-after.
Ben had woken late to an empty bed, but not a silent house. He wandered blearily out to his living room to find John sprawled across the clean lines of his couch, watching Saturday morning cartoons.
He stood in the doorway and watched John laugh at an animated explosion. His arms stretched casually along the sofa cushions, but he looked a little stiff. His back, Ben thought.
John looked up when Ben shifted his weight, uncertain, and he smiled wide. "Hey," John said, and turned down the volume. "Come here."

Date: 2010-01-18 12:49 am (UTC)I started watching it...sometime during the original run, just streaming it on Hulu, because Ryan Atwood! Police Officer. and my roommate is a huge Micheal Cudlitz fan. I just really want the fusion/crossover where Sherman secretly IS Ryan, and he brings John home to the Cohens for Chrismukkah.

Date: 2010-01-18 01:06 am (UTC)we should all just be thankful that Pete probably doesn't have much interaction with law enforcement
LOL very very true. Such is the stuff nightmares are made of.

You should check out the TNT broadcasts! There were six new minutes of footage in the re-aired pilot, and they cut out all the bleeping, so Houston, we have cursing. :D

You mean, like this? There's no Chrismukkah, but it's still good.

Date: 2010-01-18 01:15 am (UTC)I'm pretty sure I've read every single Sherman/Cooper fic in existence. Or at least on delicious. I'm hoping the rebroadcast/new episodes yield more fic.
Re: Saturday's child works hard for a living
Date: 2010-01-18 09:19 am (UTC)I know! It's really exciting. I always watch the promos, even though I've a) seen them before and b) seen the actual episodes before, just because it makes me happy. :D Also, it's encouraging that TNT is so excited about the show.
LIKEWISE. I think I need to make a pimp post to help make this happen, because I was poking around to see if there was one already I could link to, and there's NOT. That's just wrong. I'm planning to include clips like this and this, and likely this picture, but that's about as far as I've gotten. I've noticed you have a singular talent for pimping, so, any suggestions? :)

Aang was fidgeting.
Zuko had never paid Uncle Iroh much attention during his many rhapsodies about the Art of Tea, but apparently enough sunk in through simple constant exposure that Zuko had squawked in outrage (a noble, dignified sort of squawking, no matter what Sokka said) at this morning's tea-making travesty.
They were boiling the tea leaves with the water. It was not his fault.
So here they were – Aang squirming impatiently across the fire, and Zuko, channeling his uncle and trying not to miss him so hard it hurt.
"Watch carefully," he said, and began to set out the tea leaves.
