inmyriadbits: oranges on blue (billbrauerharvestmoon)
I couldn't fall asleep for hours last night. My brain of course spent that time doing useful things like insisting on figuring out whether you can swing dance to any of Panic! At The Disco's songs, to the point of me actually getting out of bed and doing the basic step by myself, in the dark, imagining music in my head. (This is not as random as it seems; I felt bad about not going dancing this Thursday, plus was thinking about New York and school, which equals thinking about the place I go swing dancing in New York, which is a couple blocks away from Madison Square Garden, and I recently stumbled across a Panic! concert review for when they played there, and I've had bandom in general on the brain recently. IT TOTALLY MAKES SENSE SHUT UP.)

I'm sure everyone will be happy to know that "But It's Better If You Do" is a go for swing dancing--jitterbug and lindy hop definitely (and West Coast, by extension. I think), and I wish I could remember enough balboa to say. It's funny, you can swing to a lot more than most people think. It doesn't have to be big band music from the 1940s. For instance, I once had an awesome dance to Eminem's "Without Me," no kidding. It was kind of surreal, but ridiculously fun.

Stop looking at me like that. I'm not crazy, I promise.

It looks like it will be another one of those nights. If my brain starts being weird again, I may boycott.
