Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

So...I haven't checked my flist in about two weeks. (I think.) I have no idea what's going on with anyone. Sorry! How are you all? :)
Nothing terribly exciting has happened; we had a garage sale, a couple of my friends are back in town (returning from such exotic locales as Ecuador and Iowa), Katie and I finished off Magnificent Seven, I found a very nice fountain pen in my granny's garage -- stuff like that. At the moment, I have somehow managed to obtain a head cold in the middle of August in Texas, which is more than a little ridiculous. The fact that it's probably not a common head cold, having been imported from Ecuador by our friend Marta, is no comfort to me, because I still feel like crap on a stick.
Um...I've been writing a little, but nothing exciting, although I did find a text file named "ffzoewash" (which means "Firefly fic involving Zoe and Wash"). When I opened it, all it has was the line "Zoe never would have fallen in love with Wash if his moustache hadn't caught fire one day." I have no memory of writing this, but it's a great opening, isn't it? :)
The current obsession is making icons. It's kind of addictive; why did no one ever warn me about that? It appeals simultaneously to my perfectionism, my impulse to make pretty things, and my fannish tendencies, which is a deadly combination. At the moment, I'm making a bunch of Mag7 icons. (There may be Firefly and Sports Night quotes involved.) Calvin & Hobbes are next.

Date: 2007-08-20 04:23 pm (UTC)Well, it's really just the one quote, and it involves Mag7, but I hope you like the ones I posted yesterday.

Date: 2007-08-20 05:12 pm (UTC)I love 'Sports Night' *so* much - I really love Sabrina Lloyd (from 'Sliders'), and I have two icons, but I'm always looking for more.

Date: 2007-08-19 02:46 am (UTC)I've actually had some bad news this week; my aunt is very ill, and I'm pretty much expecting to have to attend a funeral soon. But she's got another round of chemo, and you never know. *hopes*

Date: 2007-08-20 11:13 pm (UTC)Finding that pen would've been the highlight of my week! :D
I've been the same with bonus computer woes and finally sorting out some of the technical parts of my honours project. :)
YAY ICONS! :)

Date: 2007-08-21 02:00 am (UTC)Um, it kind of was the highlight of mine. *g* There have been a couple of times when I just wandered into Katie's room, grinning stupidly and saying "I have a fountain pen!" (You think I'm exaggerating, but...no, really.) :D And then there was the Incident that involved an hour spent signing my name a couple hundred different ways...
It just makes such a pretty sound while writing. *sighs mistily*
Yay icons! Have you seen the big post yet?
