It's not really a "fascinating" anecdote, but it is an anecdote. My parents met when they were in the Peace Corps in India and Nepal in the late '60s, and my dad spent some time trekking up the Kali Gandaki in Nepal. I guess he liked it enough to name a daughter after it ten years later. *g*

It's fascinating to me! :) Kali has always been one of my favorite goddesses. Did you know "Kali" means "the black one" in Sanskrit?

Do your parents have a meet-cute story? I really like hearing about how couples met. Even when it's not cute.

I think it was something to do with my dad being sick and my mom taking care of him, but to be honest I don't really know. They've been divorced since I was seven, so nobody really spends much time talking about their romance. ;)

So, what you're saying is that hurt/comfort may be in your genes? Because that would explain a lot. ;)

Hee! You're right. It would explain a lot. It's not my fault! It's my family history that makes me write these things.

I do like a nice, scientific explanation for things. :) But what's [livejournal.com profile] emilyray's excuse?
